WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY RETREATS 2025

a once in a lifetime wildlife photography experience

In group sizes of 6 people, we provide a comprehensive adventure tailored for experienced photographers eager for up-close encounters to capture the perfect shot of the diverse wildlife that adorns the landscapes of Southeast Alaska. This includes majestic big game animals like Coastal Brown Bears, Black Bears, Sitka Blacktail Deer, and Moose, as well as smaller avian wonders such as Rufus Hummingbirds, Great Blue Herons, Pelagic Cormorants, and Tufted Puffins. Additionally, you'll have the chance to witness marine marvels like Sea Otters, Humpback Whales, Orca Whales, Stellar Sea Lions, and any other fascinating creatures that may cross our path!

Yakobi excursions for photography opportunities

From the lodge you will depart on our 38’ boat, the Yakobi, which will be towing an 18’ Lund, accompanied by your private Captain and Guide. The Yakobi is equipped with prepacked lunches to ensure a full day immersed in the wilderness. Not only does the Yakobi provide shelter with its house and galley in case of inclement weather, but its numerous windows offer the chance to witness spectacular moments such as breaching whales or passing sea otter rafts. Daily excursions will navigate to the head of inlets where anchors will be dropped, enabling guests to access the shoreline by skiff for an up-close encounter with the local wildlife. With only six people per group and six days of expeditions, each individual will have a day to prioritize their preferences. For instance, if capturing an image of a female coastal brown bear with her cubs is the goal, arrangements will be made to locate such a sight. This tailored adventure caters specifically to the photographers' desires and aims, ensuring a personalized and fulfilling experience for all.
